Men - 6/12/2021
Once again last Saturday for the second weekend in a row play was restricted to walkers only at the Warwick Golf Course following extensive rainfall.
The course was playing extremely long and players reported it was hard work all of the way.
The winner on the day was Jamie Ollerton with a hard earned 41 points from his 22 handicap. Jamie started out without a bang washing the second hole and also the sixth hole before totalling an ordinary 16 points on the front nine. Things immediately turned around on the 10th hole when Jamie had a birdie with two shots on the hole for a three a five. He continued on with his good form for the back nine recording a whopping 25 points for an 18 hole total of 41 points. Congratulations to Jamie on a great win.
The runner up was Clayton Frank with 39 points and is he a player on fire or what.
Clayton was a member at Warwick years ago having his last competition game on the 19th November 2016 playing with a 12.9 GA handicap. He joined again this year and had his first game back on the 6th November, a break of five years. He played off 12 and recorded a net 71 in the Monthly Medal event on that day and finished 8th in a field of 68. He has played every Saturday since that day recording a win on the 13th November with 40 points in a field of 60 players. He finished 3rd on the 20th November in a field of 49 players and then won again on the 27th November with 39 points in a stableford event before recording his runner up finish on Saturday last playing on a handicap of 10. Great comeback Clayton and keep up the consistent good play and you will surely handle your new single figure handicap.
Keith Clarke and William Martin both received a ball in the run down with 35 and 34 points respectively.
The pro pin on 13 saw Peter Millard win 3 balls, Evan Pfeffer 2 and Josh Jensen 1 ball.
The NTP on 5 and 16 both went to Shaun Campbell while Dave Speedy won both the 7th and 11th. Kris McLennan won the 16th.
Please note that the John Dee Monthly Medal for December will now be played next Saturday while the Condamine Steel Shootout will be played on Sunday.
The following players were successful in making the 19 for the Shootout:- W Wells, R Dudley, J Pearson, P Farrell, M Banks, S Eldridge, P Millard, B Landrigan, S Scotney, J Owens, D Speedy, T King, E Cockram, S Haynes, M Hoskin, C Hynes, J Hynes, M Watt and G Russell-Sharam.
Players are requested to be at the club at 8.00am for an 8.30 tee off. If unable to play, please notify the Captain Brendan or the Pro Shop. The three emergency players are Keith Clarke, Charlie Morrison and Garry Adcock.
