Women - 17/11/2021

Warwick Women’s Golf Notes 15/11/21 On Wednesday the 10th we played a single stableford sponsored by Warwick Sandstone. We thank Wendy and Wayne for their generous sponsorship this year. The voucher up for grabs was from Classic Dimensions and the lady who will be looking very stylish next time we see her is our newest member, Narelle Norris who returned 37 points. Congratulations Narelle and welcome to Warwick Golf. Narelle, previously a member at Toowoomba Golf Club and her husband Bob, have recently moved to Warwick and she looks forward to meeting and playing with as many of you as she can. Runner-up on a count back was Janine Stewart. That might move you a little higher on the shootout board Janine. Balls in the rundown went to Judy Lester 35, Marg Adcock 34 and Di Johnstone and Melanie McLennan who were the best of the 32’s. Other scores were Yvonne Pinington, Helen Olsen, Majella Kahler 32, Trish Bell 31, Jill Barnes, Sharon Cooper 30, Maria Carey, Anne Lyons, Mary Young 29, Di Evans 27, Vicki Bennett 26 and Lyn McKillop 25. Sharon had a lovely 2nd shot on 9 to take out the pro pin with Marg and Judy also on the card. In the 9 hole competition, Lois took top spot with 21 points, just pipping Patti Hemmings with 20. Other scores were Jan Aspinall 18, Carolyn Abood and Gail Watts 16, Ann Tomkins 14 and Gill Young 12. Saturday was a single stableford kindly sponsored by Sam Eaves Pro Shop. We had to wait for the very last group to determine the winner and it was Jill Barnes with a terrific 39 points. She was closely followed by her playing partner Melanie McLennan with 37. Jill chipped beautifully and with only 25 putts, the strong winds were no deterrent. Mel took the Pro Pin on the 5th and Marg Adcock and Gwen Mills also received prizes there. Ros and Anne welcomed visitor Patti from Tallebudgera who enjoyed her game with the girls. Balls in the rundown went to Majella Kahler, Helen Olsen, Yvonne Pinington 35 and Molly Scotney 34. Other scores were Annice Payne 33, Anne Lyons 32, Danielle Seibel, Ros Darton, Gwen Mills 31, Trish Roberts 30, Tub Ingall, Judy Lester, Di Evans 29, Di Macdonald 28, Marg Adcock 27, our visitor Patti and Vicki Bennett. So the shootout board remains the same with a few nervous people hanging in there and for others there are still a couple of games to get there. With a case of deja vu there were 7 ladies in the 9 hole competition with Lois again the winner with 18 points. Ann Tomkins was runner-up with 17, Gail Watts 16, Joely Singleton 14, Gill Young 12, Janet Davis 11 and Jan Aspinall 10. Saturday we play a single stableford on the white course with 9/18 hole prizes up for grabs. Then Wednesday the 24th is our final Mid-Week Medal. These games are your last chances for points and a spot on the shootout board. A reminder that the Ladies AGM will be held this Sunday the 21st at 1pm. Please come along and support your club and the ladies who make golf possible for the coming year. Also your attendance at the Management AGM on Monday night would be appreciated as well.
