Men - 20/10/2021

Last Saturday members played in everybody's favourite an SS stroke. The winner on the day was Peter Millard who returned a +4 result which was just enough to get the chocolates in a countback win over Matthew Penn. Well done to both players. The course played well with the slower greens affecting many putts. The ball run down saw Michael Banks on +3 just a shot off the win. Mick has been playing good golf in recent weeks and his turn is surely not far off. Peter Balfour returned a +2 while Biloela visitor Josh Sharp returned a +1 to also win a ball. Tim Sutton, Wayne Wells and Dave Brady all finished square and each won a ball in the run down. Wayne Wells had a good day also winning the pro pin on the 13th and five balls while Scott McLennan won 4 balls, Ron Simon 3 and Trevor King 2 balls. The NTP on the 5th went to Daryl Kenneally who hopefully will be playing more golf now which is great while the 7th went Mal Galloway and the 9th to the recently married Michael Watt. Charlie Morrison won the 11th and Rod Hansen the 16th. Next Saturday we have something completely different. Members play in a Canadian Foursome stroke. The format requires each player to hit off each tee and the pair then select their best drive and the alternate player then hits that second shot and so on until the ball is holed. Then each player again hits off the 2nd tee and once the best drive is selected the shot is player alternatively and so on until finished. It should be a lot of fun and hopefully a big field will turn out. Then on Sunday we have the very important Patron's Day medley four ball event naturally sponsored by popular club Patron Rodney Macdonald. This event is a noon shotgun start so there should be a good crown in the clubhouse together for the presentation. Rodney has been the Patron for many years now and served in many positions on the committee including some years as President prior to being appointed as club Patron. Rodney hasn't been playing in recent months due to some health problems but is sure to be in attendance at the presentation.
