Last Saturday saw a field in excess of 50 players and they were all chasing the good doctor Ross Heatherington. Ross has only been with the club for a season or so now but had his best round of Saturday when he scored a whopping 46 points in the stableford event. The day was as good as over for the rest of the field after 9 holes as Ross had managed 26 points for the first 9 holes and went right on with the job managing 40 points after just 13 holes. Disaster struck then with a 9 on the 15th and then another 9 on the 16th hole but he pulled it back together to make 46 and blitz the field by 7 shots. Well done and congratulations to you Ross on a great win. The runner up was Wayne Wells with 39 on a countback from Jon Pearson. Harold Byrne had 38 points in a rare showing along with Ted King. Anthony Seidl continued his very good consistent recent form to head the 37's from Bob Lester with Justin Sneath being the only player on 36 to get a rundown ball. Ross Bell must have been inspired by his playing partner Ross Heatherington as he won the pro pin and 5 balls on the 13th with Harold Byrne winning 4 balls, Anthony Seidl 3 balls while Derrick Hewitt and Chase Longley each won a ball. The pin on the 5th went to Trevor Davies while Mick Banks won the 7th, Geoff Lee the 9th and Clifton member Jay Roberts obviously enjoying the Warwick course winning the 16th. Next Saturday members play in the John Dee Monthly Medal stroke event.
