Sporters - 16/6/2021

Wednesday 2/6/21 saw a good field of 61 members tee off in the Pro Shop sponsored stroke competition for June. Winner on the day was Keith Clarke with a strong 67 nett off his 12 handicap, closely followed by runner-up Ray Dudley on a nett 68 off his 24 handicap. Ball rundown: Brian Morrison 68, Daffy Hynes 69, Eddy Raets ( who likes the place so much he wont go home to SA!)/Sam Eaves/Trevor King/Phil McEvoy all on nett 70., and followed by Craig Burgess and The Loin King on 71. NTP’s – Neville Heard on 5th, Peter Balfour on 7th, Keith Clarke on 9th, pro pin on 11th – Garry Hanson 4, The Loin King 3, Turtle Wallace 2 and Sam McLennan 1. Pro pin on 13th – Don Stewart 3, Mike Hoskin 2 and Trevor King 1. The Loin King got in for his chop on 16th. Wednesday 9/6/21 saw the day dawn with so much wind and rain, I had to nail the dog down . Notwithstanding that, with a bit of clear sky mid morning, 33 brave ( or one might say fanatical!) members teed off in the Warwick Hotel trophy. Continuing a run of good form, the winner was the very regal Trevor King with 36 points from runner-up Greg Wallace on 34 points. Ball rundown: Keith Clarke eased out Ian Skillen on a countback on 33 points from Bob Lester on 32 points. NTP’s: Wayne Watt on 5th & 7th ( getting in before being office-bound with EOFY!) The 9th didn’t see a pint! Pro pin on 11th – Mal Galloway 2, Wayne Foster/Daffy Hynes 1 each. Pro pin on 13th – Wayne Watt struck again for 2 balls, with Kerrin Delaney/Mal Galloway 1 each. No pin on 16th. This Wednesday 16/6/21 we play in the Bells Butchery trophy and the following week in the Hawker Road Function Centre trophy. Sporters members are reminded that Elders Insurance is sponsoring a 2 Ball Ambrose on Sunday 20/6/21 with shotgun tee times available at 7.30am and 11.30am.
