Men - 15/6/2021
Last Saturday members played in another of the red marker days with reduced handicaps and shorter holes in many instances.
The winner on this occasion was John Porter. John hasn't been in the winner's circle for some time so obviously is suited to this format as he returned a winning score of 69 net. That was good enough to score a one shot victory over three other players all on 70. Early starter Peter Millard was the best of the 70's and won the runner up voucher while Michael Hoskin and Brett Donovan both had a nett 70. Adam Hart on 71 and Ross Bell on 73 (on a countback) completed the ball run down for the day.
Neville Heard fired a shot for all "C" graders when he won the pro pin on the 13th hole and secured himself 4 balls so well done Neville. Ross Bell and Phil Economidis both won 2 balls while Slim Eldridge and Greg Wallace both won a ball each.
Mitch McLennan won the NTP on the 5th, Peter Millard won the 7th, that good golfer Eamon Cockram won the 11th and Michael Hoskin kept up his good averages on the pin shots winning the 16th.
Next Saturday members play in a single stableford for a trophy donated by the very generous Danny Lyons Sports Store so thanks to Dan "Tiger" Lyons for his ongoing support of the club.
Also on next Sunday is another of the very popular 2 ball ambrose events. This one is sponsored by Elders Insurance and in the middle of the State of Origin series this event has a football theme. Come dressed in your favourite NRL footy team or Queensland colours with two shotgun starts for the event. Firstly at 7.00am and another at 11.30am so come along and enjoy a great day on the links.
