The Medal of medallists was played at the Warwick Golf Club on Sunday with both division monthly winners lining up against each other for the top prize.
Sixteen players contested the event and Adam Neilson was the winner on the day with an excellent 65 nett winning the day by two shots from runner up Greg Wallace who also played well with a 67 nett.
Congratulations to these two players on qualifying firstly and then producing a good game on the day. Adam was playing very well in the recent shootout until he had an air shot on the 10th hole from a bad lie and was eliminated there so this is certainly a compensation.
The stableford event on Saturday saw Sean Haynes in the winners list after he fired 39 points to win on a countback from Mal Galloway also on 39 points. Mal has been playing very well in recent weeks but was nudged out by Sean who was rewarded for plenty of practise time lately. Rod Hansen on 38, along with Neil Moore, Mick Banks and John Porter all on 36 received run down balls.
The pin shots went to Anthony Seidl on the 5th, Mick Banks on the 7th, Chris Hynes on the 9th and Mark Paroz on the 16th.
The Pro Pin on 13 saw Geoff Hinze make a welcome return to competition golf after injury winning 4 balls, Eddie Kemp won 3 balls, Josh Hynes 2 and Ross Kingston a ball.
A very happy Christmas to all golfers and followers and may 2021 be all that you hope for. A special thanks to the Free Times for their co-operation over the past year.
