Last Saturday members played in the John Dee sponsored Monthly Medal stroke event and the winner on the day was Eddy Raets with an excellent 65 nett. Eddy therefore wins the Division 2 voucher while Keith Clarke with his nett 69 was the division 1 winner.
The ever consistent Doug Wilson was the division 2 runner up with an excellent 66 nett and Don Warrener the Division 1 runner up with 70 nett.
The ball run down saw Dave Speedy on 67, Peter Hynes, Neville Heard and Peter Tomkins all on 69 while John Porter and Mark Edmonds from Toowoomba Club round out the run down on 70.
The event also was the qualifying round for the honourboard event, the Gray Cup. The first round draw looks like this with Eddy Raets to play Slim Eldridge and Peter Hynes to play Don Warrener on the top side of the draw while Dave Speedy and Garry Adcock match up and Doug Wilson and Mick Banks play each other on the other side of the draw. These first round games are to be played on or before Sunday 18th October. The playoffs are on handicaps of the qualifying day which are marked on the draw sheet on the clubhouse notice board. Good luck to all of the players in this prestigious event.
The NTP shots on Saturday saw Chase Longney with the 5th hole, Wayne Watt the 7th, Neville Heard the 9th, Col Dyer the 11th and Ray Dudley the 16th. The pro pin on the 13th hole saw Keith Clarke win 4 balls, Ian Stewart 4 balls, Tony Kahler 2 balls and Dave Speedy 2 balls.
The Condamine Steel shootout is getting to the pointy end with only a month or so to go now and the updated scores have been posted on the board with Caleb King leading the way well clear from Mick Hoskin. Eamon Cockram and Nic Lane are the last 2 qualifiers at this stage on 149 with Ross Bell and Neil Moore just on the outside with 148 points.
