Last Wednesday 15/7/20, despite a classic winter’s day for golf, the numbers were down on previous weeks, with  50 members teeing off in the Hawker Road Function Centre trophy for July.

Winner on the day with a respectable 39 points was Evan Pfeffer, three clear of runner-up Mike Hoskin on 36 points.

Ball rundown: Garry Hanson 36, Keith Clarke 35, Danny Lyons/ new member and houseflogger Craig Burgess/Gunter Nicklich/Ross Kingston all on 34, Peter Wright/Greg Wallace/Adam Hart all on 33, Mal Galloway 32 and Tony Kahler on 31.

This Wednesday 22/7/20 we play in the Warwick Hotel trophy and the following week in the Bells Butchery trophy.

Members will notice the huge amount of work done this week by the green staff and our band of volunteers in trimming many of the problem trees on the course, although I think they may have missed the one on the 7th and 10th fairways!

Members will have to put more effort into their stuff-ups as there was very little of interest to report this week.

And finally, our golf thought for the week -  ‘When you win, say nothing; when you lose, say less.’..Paul Brown

Enjoy your golfing week.
