Saturday saw 23 ladies play the Style Shoes White Stableford Comp. Many thanks to our Trearurer and Vice President Melanie for her generous sponsorship. It was the most magnificent day, one which was predicted to be a rainy one. The winner with 36 points was our Madam President, Liz Cockram, on a count back once again from Chief bridesmaid Roslyn Darton. (Maybe pink taffeta and a bouquet of flowers are needed this week Ros). The front 9 was taken out by Janet Davis with 22 points, and the back nine by Annice Payne with 19 points. Well done Ladies!!! The balls in the rundown went to Roslyn 36, Michelle, Mary 33 and Gwen Mills 32.  The extra balls went to Zel Crook, Di Evans, Patricia Eastwell and Carole Brandon all on 32. The remaining scores were as follows- Di Johnston Helen Olsen, Tub Ingall, Trish Roberts 31, Nachcha Craggs & Wendy Rhea 29, Yvonne Pinington & Ann Tomkins 27, Kath Devereux 25.

Today (Wednesday), we will be playing a Single Stroke kindly sponsored by The Coffee Club. One of our many businesses who have had to survive with takeaway, so please pop over to have a coffee and cake there if you are planning an outing. Thankyou for your continued sponsorship in these tough times.

Saturday will be the qualifying round of the previously postponed 4BBB Handicap Matchplay Championships. The top 8 qualifying pairs will battle it out in Matchplay format to be the Champions for 2020. Sunday will see the quarter finals of this event. So if you haven't already secured yourself a playing partner for this one, now is the time to do it, as Saturday will be coming along really fast. Please mark your card NQ if you cannot commit to Sunday and the following weekend for Matchplay.

The Lane Cup update for the weekend, Melanie and Sam McLennan defeated Marg and Garry Adcock 4/2 on Saturday. From all reports Sam was on fire carding an eagle and birdies along the way to an almost par round. A few matches were going to be played on Sunday but the heavens opened up on our beautiful course. So stay tuned for those ones this week.

A bit of housekeeping... Please make sure that your completed signed cards are placed in the box supplied in the ladies toilet area, as with limited patrons allowed in the Club House, they are easier for our committee to collate and put through their paces in the back office. By the time our Committee does the results the clubhouse is closed so any cards locked in there cannot be considered within the results. Luckily to date Steve has ‘rescued’ the cards for us in a timely manner.

Also.. if prefer lying your ball in the bunkers, only do so if you are in a mess that somebody else has made. If your ball lies on normal untouched sand, it should not be preferred. This is just a courtesy rule while our COVID 19 rules are in play.

Until next week, keep your head down, your eye on the back of the ball, and have fun playing golf at the beautiful Warwick Golf club.
