Men - 1/6/2020

Another great field last Saturday with 79 players teeing off in the Advance Metal Products single stableford.
Again, thanks to Don Stewart and Advance Metal Products for their very generous and regular support of the Warwick Golf Club.
The winner on the day was Michael Watt with 42 points. Michael has been playing well in recent months and this is not the first time that he was won so well done to you Michael.
Runner up was another player that has been playing regularly and well in recent weeks and that is Gary Millard. Gary is reducing his handicap each week and was a little unlucky to not win this week as he had 41 points and had a lost ball on the 15th hole resulting in a wash on the hole.
The ball run down saw John Porter return 40 points, Dave Speedy and Mal Galloway 39, Wayne Wells, Sam McLennan, Brodie Quirk and Wayne Watt all on 38, Neil Moore on 36, Shane Reid, Neville Heard and William Martin all on 35 and Derrick Hewitt, Nick Tomkins, Terry Bennett, Slim Eldridge and Simon Macdonald rounding out the winners on 34.
The Condamine Steel club shootout is well underway with 37 players having nominated to date. Remember that there is still plenty of time to nominate and pay and have some great scores to qualify for probably the most popular competition in the club year. Players have their best 4 scores in any Saturday competition over the year to qualify for the shootout in December so if you are not in the game as yet, see the Pro Shop now to get involved.
The top scorer at this stage is ultra consistent Michael Hoskin on 156 points. Slim Eldridge has 155, Keith Clarke 154, Scott McLennan 152 with Garry Adcock and Mick Payne next best on 150. Number 19 at this point in time is Nic Lane on 143.  So it can be seen that four rounds of 36 points will qualify you for the shootout at this stage so get in there if you haven't already. Qualify and you win a good looking quality shirt at least.
Next Saturday members play in the John Dee monthly medal stroke event and next Sunday mixed teams will try to qualify for the Lane Cup. This is a mixed match play event, the only one of the golf calendar for the year, with the top eight pairs to qualify so grab a partner and nominate on the time sheet provided.
