Warwick Men’s Golf Club notes

  Saturday 18th January we played a single stableford sponsored by the Horse and jockey Hotel/Motel. We thank them for their continued sponsorship. The winner was Ben Brownlie with 40 pts. The runnerup OCB was Neil Moore with 39 pts. Ball rundown: Keith Clarke and Michael Watt with 39, John Devitt 38, Eamon Cockram 37, Leon Sticklen 36 and Brendon Landrigan 35. NTP’s: 5th Keith Clarke, 7th Mark Thomas, 9th Dave Craggs, 11th Dave Speedy, 16th Michael Watt. Pro Pin: Mark Thomas 4 balls, Peter Millard 3 balls, Nic Lane 2 balls, Eamon Cockram, Brendon Landrigan and Gary Russell-Sharam all 1 ball.

  This Saturday 25th January we play a Single Stableford which is sponsored by The Malthouse and on Monday 27th January (the Australia Day public holiday) we have our annual 2 person ambrose which is again sponsored by Warwick Real Estate. Thanks to Neil for his generous and continued sponsorship of this event. There is a 12 midday shotgun start with registrations from 11am. The day is open to golfers and non golfers with a $16 fee for full members and $30 for flexi members and non golfers. Drinks and sausages will be available on the deck from 11am with all proceeds returned to Warwick Golf Club. There are separate prizes for men’s, women’s and mixed teams, NTP’s and approaches and best dressed team including buggy. So organize a partner and come and enjoy the day. Bookings can be made through the Pro Shop.

  The following Saturday (1st February) we play the February John Dee Monthly Medal and on Sunday 2nd our annual Opening Day is scheduled. This is sponsored by Sam Eaves Pro Shop. Thanks to Sam for his generous sponsorship of this event. The format is a 4BBB Medley Stableford with a 12 midday shotgun start. There is a timesheet operating so contact the Pro Shop to book in.

   The Shootout qualifying has commenced. This event is again sponsored by Condamine Steel & Rural with an entry fee of $40. To enter see the Pro Shop, Slim Eldridge or Tony Kahler. Qualifying scores are the best 4 scores taken from Saturday handicap competitions and club championship results. 

   Another event scheduled is on Saturday 15th February where men will play the Women’s Red marker course. Could be interesting!
