We had a big winner last Saturday in the Advance Metal Products sponsored flag event. With thanks to the management of Advance Metal Products who are a regular sponsor, the event saw one of the biggest wins we have seen at the Warwick club in many months.
Wayne Wells who has had only a few games in the club blew the field away when he had a 61 nett to win by an astounding 5 shots from his nearest competitor. Wayne carried the flag to the 2nd tee where he had one shot left but unfortunately hit it out of bounds so the flag went no further.  The runner up was consistent "A" grader Matty Tate who had a very good round of 72 gross for his 66 nett which would have won most events in recent weeks.
The bal sweep saw Mick Payne and Geoff Hinze on 67, Ed Kemp on 68, Keith Clarke and Evan Pfeffer on 69.
The pins went to Stephen Klease on the 5th, Connor Cruice on the 7th and 11th,  Kris McLennan on the 9th and Keith Clarke on the 16th carrying the flag for the "other than "A" graders".
The pro pin on 13 saw Ben Griffiths win 4 balls, Matty Tate 3, Allan Matthews 2 and Don Warrener 1 ball.
Sunday was a big successful day with almost a hundred players in the Westpac sponsored Bushfire Appeal event and a special thanks to the local branch of the Westpac Bank.
The day raised in the vicinity of $3,500 dollars which was an amazing effort by all present. President Don Stewart thanked some special donors at the presentation but further thanks go to Rob Farrell who organized the wonderful raffle trophy which he procured from Mecure Hotels at Palm Meadows and also to Darryl Bain who provided a Broncos jersey and the winner was lucky Ted King.
The trophies for the day saw the McLennan family have a real day out.
Kris and Mitch won the best gross with a 2 under 67 defeating Brendan Landrigan and Sam Eaves on a countback. Sam McLennan and for top junior Ben O'Dea won the best gross with a 64. Melanie and Eliza McLennan won the nett runner up in the non golfer division.
Scott and Mary Yound won the nett runner up for golfers with 64.25 and the non golfers winner best nett was Rod Hansen and Chase Longley with 62.5
Pin winners were Trish Roberts on the 11th and Nachacha Craggs on 16 while in the mens division winners were Dave Speedy on 7, Slim Eldridge on 11, Don Warrener on 13 and Ben O'Dea on 16.
Next Saturday we play the John Dee sponsored Monthly Medal on Saturday while on Sunday we have another honour Board event in the mixed Lane Cup. This is the only mixed match play event of the year so get your partner and attempt to qualify as one of the top eight next Sunday
