On Wednesday we played in the 4BBB Stableford sponsored by Carey’s Butchers Locke Street. There were 24 players who braved the windy conditions. Gill Young and Ann Ellis combined well to win with 46 points. Tracey Spinetti and Anna Cox were runners up with 42 points. Balls in the rundown were awarded to Jean Fysh and Dian Macdonald and Jill Barnes and Joely Singleton, both pairs scoring 40 points. The approach on 9 was won by Judy Lester and the graded on 11 went to Gwen Mills, Dian Macdonald and Diane Johnston. Joan Burt won 2 balls and Tracey Spinetti and Gwen Mills won 1 ball each in the Pro Pin on the 16th.

Saturday was the President’s Foursomes qualifying round. 28 ladies played the round which was sponsored by Warwick Garden Centre. Congratulations to Nachcha Craggs and Joely Singleton who won with a nett score of 74. Janine Stewart and Majella Kahler were runners up with a nett score of 75. Balls in the rundown were awarded to Roslyn Darton and Jill Barnes with a nett 76 and Gwen Mills and Annice Payne with a nett 77. The approach on 13 was won by Louise Carey and Trish Roberts and the approach on 16 went to Gwen Mills and Annice Payne.

The President’s Foursomes Afternoon Tea hosted by President Judy was enjoyed on the deck by both the players and guests before the presentations to the winning players.
Sunday was the President’s Foursomes quarter finals. All the matches were close either finishing on the 17 or 18 hole. The results were: Nachcha Craggs and Joely Singleton defeated Judy Lester and Mary Young 1 up; Janine Stewart and Majella Kahler defeated Gill Young and Wendy Rhea 2 up; Roslyn Darton and Jill Barnes defeated Patricia Eastwell and Janet Davis 2 /1; and Gwen Mills and Annice Payne defeated Dianne Evans and Yvonne Pinington 1 up.

Wednesday 18thSeptember is the Mid Week Medal single stroke which has been transferred from August because of inclement weather and sponsored by the RSL Memorial Club. On Saturday 18thSeptember a single stableford off the red markers sponsored by Red Rooster will be played in conjunction with the semi finals of the Presidents Foursomes. Sunday 22ndSeptember is the Presidents Foursomes Finals. On Sunday 29thSeptember the 2 ball Ambrose is now a Bushfire Charity Day with all proceeds to the Granite Belt Fire Victims.
