Youngster Michael Watt had his best round in weeks last Saturday to win the Jumpers and Jazz Southern Downs Ag sponsored single stableford.
Michael had a sensational 26 points on the front nine but was not able to keep that sort of scoring up and only had 14 points on the back nine but still got home by a shot on the day from runner up Bill McKillop. Michael's 40 points is the best winning score for a few weeks so well done to you Michael.
The run down saw Eddie Kemp score a ball with 38, Ben Griffiths 37, Rhys Farrell 35 and Don Stewart and Ray Dudley with 34 each.
Thew pin shots went to Matty Tate on the 5th, Scott McLennan on the 7th, Paul Eldridge on the 9th, Ben Griffiths on the 11th and Tony Kahler on the 16th. The pro pin on 13 saw Ben Griffiths win 4 balls, Kris McLennan 3 balls and Geoff Hinze 2 balls.
Kris McLennan travelled to the big open day at Clifton on Sunday and won with a course record score of 5 under off the stick. Well done to you Kris and congratulations from the club.
Next Saturday in Warwick we play in the John Dee Monthly Medal stroke event and then on Sunday the mixed foursomes event is on. This 36 hole gross championship event includes 36 and 18 hole nett prizes and is sponsored by Carey's Meats at Yangan and the club would like to see a good size field in this once a year type of event.
Also upcoming later in August is thew Top Two Motorcycles and Yamaha Open weekend of golf on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August so mark that big weekend down on your "to do" list.
