Last Saturday members played in the qualifying round for the 4BBB handicap match play honourboard event sponsored by Advance metal Products and the thanks of the club goes out to the management of that generous sponsor for their ongoing support of the club in so many ways.
The scoring was close with the top qualifiers Phil McEvoy and Eddy Raets scoring 63 nett in winning the event.
The runners up were John Pearson and Kris McLennan on 64 nett.
The play offs are set as follows with the matches to be played on or before the 4th August.
Number 1 McEvoy and Raets to play number 8 Griffiths and Delaney. Number 2 Pearson and McLennan to play number 7 Banks and Devitt. Number 3 Watt and Russell-Sharam to play number 6 father and son team Rodney and Simon Macdonald and number 4 Rhys farrell and Landrigan to play number 5 Keith and Rob Farrell.
Good luck to all players.
Next Saturday is the Presidents Day so a large crowd is expected to turn out in support of the very hard working and generous sponsor Don Stewart. Don has been a stalwart of the club for almost 40 years and more recently has been doing a power of work for the club on and off the course as the President so a big turnout is expected for the single stableford event.
Also next weekend on the Sunday popular Patron Rodney Macdonald is conducting the Patron's Day event which is a 4BBB mixed event and an honourboard event so again, a big field is expected for the popular mixed format.
