Last Saturday an excellent field of 60 players teed off in a most difficult wind which played havoc with a lot of players during the round. The wind didn't trouble Clayton Frank as he amassed 40 points to be a two shot winner over runner up Gary Millard. Clayton was a member back in 2016 and has only played a couple of games in the past few weeks after returning to golf following that break back here in Warwick. He had a 78 off the stick off his 13 handicap so it was an excellent round by Frank and hopefully will encourage him to play here more regularly. Runner up Gary Millard has been knocking on the door for a while now and his turn will surely come shortly. The run down saw Tallebudgera Golf Club member Robert Bergin as well as Shaun Campbell score 38 with Sam McLennan scoring 37 along with Jamie Ollerton and Dave Speedy and Geoff Hinze. Geoff also won the NTP on the 5th with 7 going to Don Warrener, 9 to Brodie Quirk and 11 to Ray Dudley while the 16th went to Wayne Walters. The pro pin on the 13th saw Allan Matthews back from a long spell in South Australia quickly find form winning 5 balls there while Ray Dudley had a good day with the short irons winning 4 balls, Wayne Watt 3 and Gary Millard and Scott McLennan a ball each. There has been a change to the programme for next Saturday with the competition now being an SS -v- Par event. Don't forget the big West School P and C Day four ball ambrose on Sunday 28th November. Shotgun starts at 7.30am and again at noon with plenty of prizes and fun for the day. Best wishes to regular playing member John Porter for a speedy recovery following a health issue last week .All members look forward to seeing John back on the fairways in quick time. If anybody hasn't played in a while and is thinking of a game you should get to it as the course has never looked better following recent rains.
