Last Saturday members played in a single stableford event and the results were really surprising.
Fifty one players contested the event and just a few weeks after only a few players were able to play to their handicaps in each event, twenty players played to or better than their handicaps.
The markers were probably forward and the pins were friendly in some instances but still, almost half the field with 36 points or more was incredible.
Five players tied on 41 points with Peter Farrell winning on a countback courtesy of his 2 over and 22 points on the back nine. Peter bogied 11 and 15 and had 7 other pars in an excellent back 9 performance to win the event.
Keith Clarke and Mick Banks each had 21 on the front nine and 20 on the back nine while Eddie Kemp and Brett Donovan did it the opposite way to Peter with 22 on the front nine and 19 on the back nine. Doug Wilson on 40 and Trevor King on the best of the 39's rounded out the run down.
Ray Dudley won the pro pin and collected 5 balls while the consistent Evan Pfeffer won 4 balls, Scott McLennan won 2 balls and Michael Watt and Rhys Farrell won a ball each.
The pin on the 5th went to Peter Balfour while the 7th was won by Ron Simon , the 9th by Kris McLennan and Mal Galloway had a good back nine aided by winning the pin shots on both 11th and 16.
Don't forget the Patron's Day on Sunday 24th October which is a 4BBB medley event and the following Sunday is Greenkeepers Payback Day which is a shotgun start at 7.30 or 11.30 so you have choices there. If you haven't met the new greenkeeper Shane, come along and introduce yourself on that day.
