The Warwick Golf Club single stableford last Saturday saw a field of 60 players line up.
The winner on the day was the hard working Bob Lester who scored 40 points on a day where the scoring was generally better than it has been in recent weeks.
Knowing every blade of grass on the course and every roll on the greens Bobby delivered with his best round in months. Congratulations to you Bob.
The runner up with just 1 point less was Conrad Seibel who had not been playing in the best of form in recent starts so it was good to see Conrad back in something like his best form.
The ball run down saw Michael Ford, Doug Wilson, Gunter Nicklich and Connor Cruice all on 38 points, Peter Balfour on 37 and Wayne Wells, Eddie Kemp and John Porter all on 36 points. What an excellent round by young Connor with a four under off the stick.
Conrad Seibel won the NTP on the 5th, Ross Bell the 7th and the 16th, Shane Scotney the 9th and Brodie Quirk the 11th.
The Pro Pin on the 13th saw Slim Eldridge win 4 balls, Leon Sticklen 3,m Kris McLennan 2 and Rhys Farrell, Charlie Morrison and Peter Boney a ball each.
Players are reminded that this coming Saturday we play a single stroke flag event while on Sunday the important men's foursomes championships are on. This incorporates the 36 hole Coe Cup event as well meaning that the 36 hole foursome is a gross event and the Coe Cup is a handicap net event so plenty of opportunity for trophies for all pairs. The foursome is sponsored by Brownlie Concreating while the Coe Cup is sponsored by the Sandy Creek Hotel. Thank you to both generous sponsors for these two honourboard events.
The following Sunday is the annual Greenkeepers Day and this year it is sponsored by both Craig and Jake but also by Elders Insurance and the thanks of the club goes to Warren from Elders as well as Craig and Jake.
The day is a support day for popular staff member Nathan Bell and there will be a sausage sizzle and half way house in operation on the day which commences with a shotgun start at 11.30am. The event is a 2 person ambrose with trophies for mens and womens teams so a great turnout would be greatly appreciated.
