The John Dee Monthly Medal was played last Saturday in extremely cold conditions and saw a reduced field on recent weeks with 56 players contesting the event.
The John Dee company continue to support the Warwick Golf Club so the thanks of the members and committee goes out to them.
The winner of the "A" division last Saturday was Caleb King who recorded a 65 nett which won him the event on a countback from Mal Galloway. Both Caleb and Mal have been on the leaderboard in recent weeks so they continue to play well obviously.
The "B" division winner was Ian Wallace on 67 and he scored by a single shot from that divisional runner up in Michael Kairouz.
The ball run down saw Cahal Davis and the ultra consistent in recent months Keith Clarke both on 69, Ray Dudley, Mick Payne and Slim Eldridge all on 70, the regular ball winner Gary Millard on 71, Eddy Raets and Steve Klease on 72, Kerrin Delaney, Mark Thomas, Craig Simmons ( a visitor from the Forbes Golf Club in NSW) Shaun Campbell and Sean Haynes all on 73.
Next Saturday the very popular 4BBB H'cap Matchplay qualifying event is on with the top eight pairs to qualify for the matchplay component. Best of luck to all players in what should be an excellent field.
On a sadder note the club bids farewell to regular player Dave Craggs after this week as Dave and Nasha are off to the warmer climate in far north Queensland. The club wishes both Dave and Nasha all the best in that venture and they will be missed around the course. Another couple of regulars that will not be seen in the coming months are old mates Gordon McKeen and Billy McKillop who have both suffered injury recently. The club wishes both a speedy recovery and it would be great if they could make a comeback in the future. All the aforementioned members were popular figures around the club and will be sorely missed.
