Captain Mary emailed the February program to all members a few days ago, with extra copies available in the Presentation Room. Please understand that all sponsors are not yet finalised. The yearly program will be ready for our Opening Day soon.
By now you should have paid your $40 for the various Competitions running throughout the year, including the shootout if you plan to be in it. Please remember to enter the various competitions before you play your first game to have your scores counted. Envelops are ready in both the lady’s restroom and presentation room.
Today we are playing our January Mid-Week Medal on the white course. At the time of writing the RSL sponsorship has not been confirmed for 2020. Saturday is a single stableford from the red markers with Red Rooster for the take home trophy of the day. Next Wednesday January 29thwe are trying out a new form of foursome play called Pinehurst, owing to Golflink being down for a few days as our new World Handicaps are calculated. Please add your names to the morning timesheet in pairs and indicate your intention to play in the afternoon to hopefully have enough pairs to play in fours when the draw is done. Remember the afternoon draw is at 11.40am for an 11.45am start all year round now.
We are hoping to see good support for a couple of club days coming up – Australia Day 2 ball ambrose Monday January 27thwith a BBQ and drinks on the deck sponsored by Warwick Real Estate and our official golf year Opening Day on Sunday February 2ndwhich is a 4BBB medley stableford sponsored by our Pro Sam Eaves. Both events are shot gun starts at 12 noon. Please register in the proshop as soon as possible and then nominate by 11.30am to ensure a timely start. If you require a partner for either event please see the friendly boys in the proshop.
As you will have read in Captain Tony’s email to all members, play will only commence from 7am during the Championships which are in early March to allow time for the ground staff and volunteers to prepare the course as necessary. If anyone plays earlier than this time their cards will not be considered for Championship results.
Membership for the coming year is due by the end of the month. Please ensure you have paid this before playing once February starts.
Congratulations on behalf of all the lady members to Danielle Seibel for the time she is spending with the juniors. Each Thursday afternoon and Sunday morning Danielle, together with Brendan Landrigan is supporting Connor and Steve in encouraging juniors to learn to play. Last Sunday was a very successful Come & Try day which attracted more than 50 juniors, many of whom were girls. Together with the help of other members these kids had a wonderful morning. Thanks for everyone who helped.
