Please remember to enter the various competitions before you play your first game to have your scores counted. Envelops are ready in both the lady’s restroom and presentation room. Confirmation from Golf Qld as to the nomination fee for the Foundation Brooch and International Bowl has still not come through - so in the meantime we will assume they are the same as last year at $3.50 per event. Together with the Shootout ($30), Gobbles ($1) and Wednesday & Saturday eclectics ($1 each) a total of $40 will cover everything. Please clearly date your envelop, ticking which competitions you are entering and leave it in the locked wooden box in the restroom or give to a Committee member. Mel will then give you a receipt.
Owing to the World Handicapping System which has comes into effect on January 30thwe are being asked to play a non-handicapped event on Wednesday January 29th. It will be a partner event of some kind and will be advised before next week’s notes. In the meantime, plan your partner. Remember the afternoon draw for Wednesday afternoon competition is now set at 11.40am for play to commence at 11.45am every week throughout the year.
Today we are playing a single stableford from the red tees with a KFC voucher for the trophy. Let’s hope for a cooler day and everyone coming out to start their golfing year. Saturday the 18this a 4BBB stableford so please ask someone you haven’t seen back yet to enjoy a game with you. Then next Wednesday January the 22ndis the first Mid-Week Medal of the year, a single stroke off the white markers. As you may have seen in a FB post from our Course Superintendent Craig, water allocations have been cut back which is affecting the watering of the fairways. Patience and understanding are required at this time and appreciation for the fantastic condition the greens and surrounds are still in.
