July Newsletter - 12/7/2018

Dear Members

This Saturday 14th July is the Men’s 4BBB Handicap Matchplay qualifying round.  This is an 18 hole 4BBB stroke event sponsored by Advanced Metal Products where the top 8 nett pairs qualify for handicap matchplay.  To qualify players must be financial members of Warwick Golf Club and hold a current AGU handicap.  All pairs must have opponents in the Qualifying round.  No “swingers” are eligible to qualify for the matchplay event.

The Quarter finals over 18 holes are to be played on or before 4 August 2018. Semifinals over 18 holes on or before 26 August 2018 and the final over 36 holes by 22 September 2018.  If you cannot play at these times or do not wish to qualify please mark on your scorecard NQ.  See the full conditions of play in the Clubhouse.

The following Saturday is the annual Patron’s Day sponsored by our Patron, Rodney Macdonald. The event is a mixed 4BBB Stableford Honour board event which is steep in tradition as this event goes back many years.  So arrange a partner and come and support our ex-president, loyal golf club worker and great Patron, Rodney.

Saturday 28th July is a Single Stableford for Jumpers and Jazz last weekend sponsored by club stalwarts and tireless workers, Bob and Judy Lester. Bob and Judy do tremendous work for the club both on the course and assisting in the administration of golf.  Your support of their sponsored day would be appreciated.

Another event to mark on your calendars are the Mixed Foursomes on Sunday 5th August. This is the annual 36 hole event sponsored by Freedom Lifestyle Village (Kahler’s Oasis Caravan Park). There are winners of best gross 36 holes (Honour board event), best nett 36 holes, best nett 1st 18 holes and best nett 2nd 18 holes.

Don’t forget the Warwick Open weekend (ex Canning Downs) to be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August.  This prestigious event is sponsored by Top Two Motorcycles and Yamaha.  Saturday is the Warwick Open Single Stroke Honour board event with separate trophies for men and women and Sunday is a Single Stableford again with separate trophies for men and women.

Thanks to all for your support in playing in the charity days of late.  Your support is appreciated and the money raised will go to maintaining and improving our club and facilities.
